Association “Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23″
——-

The Association “Ivan Patzaichin-Mila 23″ was founded in 2010 in order to generate sustainable development programs in the Danube Delta, aiming to co-interest the local and the regional audiences and to support the articulation of a long term strategy in the region. The Association, led by the multiple Olympic champion Ivan Patzaichin, assumes the task of promoting an environmental-awareness movement, called rowmania, having as its core values: the effective protection of environment, the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, the nurturing of entrepreneurial energies and the revival of traditional crafts.
——-
The model of development proposed by the Association “Ivan Patzaichin-Mila 23″ is based on the use of local resources, their coalition and involvement of local people. The Association aims, applying different methodologies and involving various creative fields, such as design, contemporary art, film and architecture, to build a local and international production cluster based on entrepreneurial practices that privilege the ratio between the natural environment, creativity, community and technology.

Romanian Cultural Institute
——-
The main aim of the Romanian Cultural Institute is to enhance the visibility of
Romanian culture worldwide. The principal means of achieving this aim are the dissemination of information and the implementation of cultural projects involving
Romanian artists and cultural operators. Within the network of Romanian Cultural Institutes abroad (17), twelve to fourteen cultural events are organised weekly. The RCI has been a member of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) since 2007. In the period from June 2010 to June 2011, Horia-Roman Patapievici, the RCI President, held the position of EUNIC President. We also cater to Romanian audiences, organising cultural events in Romania, many of which are in partnership with public or private institutions. One good example of this is the European Film Festival, an event that is already in its sixteenth year, and which is held in five major cities around Romania. Furthermore, we also try to reach unconventional spaces, holding events in bookshops, cafés, and even in the street.
——-
We organise Romanian-language courses for foreign students both in Romania (Bucharest and Brașov) and abroad, through our network of Romanian Cultural Institutes.
——-
We provide scholarships and residencies for Romanian artists and professionals, with a view to their making an impact on international markets. At the same time, we support foreign researchers of Romanian culture, through scholarships and residencies.
——-
The RCI Publishing House publishes books and art albums, which can be ordered online at www.e-icr.ro. We can be found at the most important book fairs in Romania and internationally.
